our story
If You Choose To Believe Them is the first children's book from Angela O'Hoppe. The true story follows the author's son, MLB catcher Logan O'Hoppe while he overcomes obstacles and chases his ultimate dream of making it to the Big Leagues. The story teaches readers that some people's opinions do not matter and should have no impact on our ability to achieve our goals. It encourages self-belief and determination while emphasizing the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people, the ones who know you best! Illustrated by the talented Penny Weber, If You Choose To Believe Them serves as a platform from which students can leap into the author-led, interactive, read-along program that includes supplemental exercises to practice and promote Social Emotional Learning Curriculum for elementary level students.
Our Founder
Angela O'Hoppe is the author of the children's book, If You Choose To Believe Them and the creator of a supplemental program called, If You Choose To Believe Them: Yes. You CAN!. Angela is also a veteran speech and language therapist and special educator who has passionately worked to foster growth and self-worth in young children for over 30 years. She is the proud mother of twins, Melanie and Logan, and grateful wife to her husband, Michael.
Our promise
Students will be empowered with the tools of determination, grit, and resilience after participating in growth-mindset activities and conversations that deepen comprehension of social-emotional skills, language development, and early literacy. They will be encouraged to determine which voices are trusted and which ones should be ignored. Participants will discuss setting goals and how to achieve them no matter how big they are. This program is for every child who has been told, "you can't" and every adult who's ever said, "Yes. You CAN!" Teachers, counselors, and parents will come away with the tools needed to promote and support the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum.
